Wandering around Taipei...
This trip we did a fair amount of just wandering around Taipei like we
usually do. This time was the first time I worked up the courage
to venture out on my own. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of
new electronics at NOVA and FNAC, pretty similar to what is in the
US although the selection is good. Next to NOVA is a new place called
Future Center which has a really good selection of electronics. It's
just like a Fry's but without the junk food. One thing we both
saw and were amazed by was the
Aegius Club. This is simply
the most fabulous health club we've ever seen. Too bad they don't
have short term memberships.

Sun Yat-Sen Memorial and Taipei 101

View of
Taipei 101
from Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park. Taipei 101 is the world's tallest
building and totally dominates the Taipei skyline. I guess that's
not so surprising considering how tall it is, but it's like a giant
tree standing in a grassy field. The weird part is the tiny buildings
in the neighborhood of Taipei 101 are actually fairly large 20-30
story buildings. It's just that they are totally dwarfed by the 1670
foot behemoth.
