Around Keelung
Keelung Fish Market
The fish market in Bisha Harbor in Patoutzu just east of Keelung has
quite an impressive selection of seafood. It's almost like getting
free admission to the
Monterey Bay Aquarium and being
allowed to eat the exhibits. The variety of shellfish is amazing.
I don't think I've ever seen such a collection of crab, shrimp, and
lobster at any aquarium anywhere -- whether you are allowed to eat
them or not. Some of them are truly bizarre looking. Of course,
there is also a wide variety of fish available ranging from live
fish to sashimi to dried fish.

Heping Dao (Peace Island)
Heping Dao is a fascinating park tucked away in a most unlikely
location for such a scenic spot -- right at the entrance to Keelung
harbor. This gives the natural scenery the odd backdrop of the heavy
industrialization of one of the world's busiest seaports. The coast
line here is covered with all sorts of strangely eroded rock formations.

More weird rocks

Keelung Island and more weird brain shaped rocks. Unfortunately,
the brains on a stick are not visible here.
